About me
My name is Leigh Taylor . I want to work with individuals where I will really make a difference. I wanted to improve the quality of my life and to help others in a variety of ways at the same time.
I studied NLP to Master Practitioner level and use this where appropriate within Hypnotherapy. It’s the ‘icing on the cake’ as far as I am concerned. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming ) is the study of the structure of subjective experience, in reality that means the way we communicate with ourselves and with others and can have some really positive benefits for individuals. As I came towards the end of my NLP training I became curious to learn more about hypnotherapy and the benefits that the two combined can bring.....and this lead me to qualify as hypnotherapist. I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and on the General Hypnotherapy Register. I have studied Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to combine with hypnotherapy. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) gets it's name from one of its core messages: to accept what is out of your personal control, while committing to action that will improve your quality of life.
The aim of ACT is to help people create a rich full and meaningful life, while effectively handling the pain and stress that life inevitably brings. ACT (which is pronounced as the word 'act', not as the initials) does this by:
a) teaching you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively – in such a way that they have much less impact and influence over you. These are referred to as Mindfulness Skills.
b) helping you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you - ie your values - then use that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better.
Hypnotherapy is relaxing. There is always some nerves when clients first arrive for their initial consultation. I provide a safe, non-judgemental environment and explain what hypnotherapy is and isn’t and this first half an hour consultation is free. Its really important that the client feels comfortable and relaxed for hypnotherapy to be at its most effective.
As the initial consultation of half-an-hour is free, you have nothing to lose in finding out more. It could change your life too and make a real difference.
